KATHMANDU: The Nepal-India trade and investment cluster meeting held today ahead of the Joint Commission talks discussed on facilitating trade and transit between the two neighbouring countries by easing transhipment facility for Nepal-bound cargoes, reducing countervailing duties on various goods and controlling unauthorised trade.

Nepal has long been demanding that India simplify transhipment rules for Nepal-bound cargoes by moving the goods immediately to the country’s border upon their arrival at Kolkata port.
