The Minister of Environment & Forest Jayanti Natarajan wants a Commission to deal with pollution of Ganga and other major rivers. She mooted the idea while replying to a debate in Rajya Sabha on March 11. “Just as we have a Commission to ensure there are no atrocities against women,” said she, “we should have a Commission to ensure there is no atrocity against the river Ganga and against all major rivers of the country.”
