PATNA: World Bank is learnt to have finally made up its mind to give the second tranche of soft loan worth $621 million (Rs 2,818 crore) to the state government to take up flood protection and irrigation-related schemes.

The soft loan, however, has been put in the larger rubric of Bihar Kosi Flood Recovery Project (BKFRP), and is being extended to the state government as part of its phase-II programme, said Indu Bhushan Kumar, superintending engineer, who heads the Flood Control and Monitoring Cell (FCMC) of the water resources department (WRD).
